The Odum City Council met for its regularly scheduled meeting on June 2, 2026 at the Odum City Hall.  Mayor Greg Leggett called the meeting to order and prayed the invocation. Kathy Rozier, Nick Bauer, and Kelsea Baker were present for the meeting.  Kevin Higgs and Ron Sluder were absent.  The minutes from May’s meeting were not approved due to a quorum to vote to approve.  They will be on July’s agenda to approve.

Committee Reports

Kathy Rozier had nothing to report.

Nick Bauer had nothing to report.

Kelsea Baker had nothing to report.

Leon McKinney reported that the new transmission had been installed in the police vehicle and it was working great.

Matthew Strickland asked the council to consider purchasing an air compressor that he had for sale to put in the fire station to use for the fire trucks.  He stated that it was in “like new” condition, and he was asking $800 for it.  They asked him to bring pictures and details to the next meeting for consideration.  They asked the clerk to put it on the agenda in July.

Mayor Greg Leggett tabled the next 2 items on the agenda until the July meeting.

Mayor Greg Leggett opened bids for fire hoses at this time.  Only 1 bid was submitted.  The bid came from MES at a price of $7,282.24.  After a brief discussion, Nick Bauer made a motion to accept the bid and to purchase the hoses with SPLOST V funds.  Kelsea Baker made a second to the motion and the motion carried with a 3-0 vote.

At this time Clerk, Robbin Manners read changes to the Alcohol Ordinance needed due to the Recent Referendum that passed allowing Sunday Sales of Alcohol.  After reading the amendments, Kathy Rozier made the motion to amend the Ordinance to allow Sunday Alcohol Sales, Kelsea Baker made a second to the motion and the motion carried with a 3-0 vote.

At this time Clerk Robbin Manners went over the proposed budgets for 2026-2027.  The proposed Water and Sewer Budget for 26-27 was $205,286.94.  The proposed General Budget was $374,910.00. Both budgets will be reviewed by the council and will be put on the July 7, 2026 agenda for approval.

Kathy Rozier made a motion to adjourn the meeting.   Nick Bauer made a second to the motion and the motion carried with a 3-0 vote.

With nothing further to attend, the meeting was adjourned.
